Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (/kænˈdɪnski/; Russian: Васи́лий Васи́льевич Канди́нский, Vasiliy Vasil’yevich Kandinskiy, pronounced [vaˈsʲilʲɪj kɐnˈdʲinskʲɪj]; (16 December 1866 – 13 December 1944) was an influential Russian painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting one of the first purely abstract works.

Persian hip hop emerged in the late 1980s, from Tehran. The rap group 021, taking its name from Tehran's area code, was one of the very first groups performing hip hop music. The group was founded by Soroush Lashkary, better known by his stage name, Hichkas.
